What MapleGator is

MapleGator tracks the catalogs of specialty Japanese-maple nurseries and shows which cultivars are in stock. To do that for you, we store a small amount of data about your account and your activity on the site.

What we collect and why

  • Account details: your email address and username, used to sign you in and to send the emails you ask for.
  • Newsletter subscription: if you subscribe, we store your email address until you unsubscribe.
  • Wishlist: the cultivars you add, so we can show them to you and watch their availability.
  • In-stock alert preferences: whether alerts are enabled, and a record of alerts we have sent you (so we don't send the same alert twice in a short window).

How wishlist tracking works

When a cultivar is on your wishlist, we check its vendor product pages on your behalf: roughly every few minutes for listings under active watch, and at least daily via our regular catalog scans. When a listing comes back in stock we email you, if you have alerts enabled. You can turn alerts off at any time from your notification settings, and every alert email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.
  • We don't run third-party advertising or tracking scripts.
  • We don't store payment details. The site currently has no paid features. If a paid tier launches, payments will be processed by a dedicated payment provider and this policy will be updated first.

Service providers

The site runs on Google Cloud, sits behind Cloudflare, and sends transactional email through Resend. Your data passes through these providers only as needed to operate the site.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. That's it.

Your choices: export, correction, deletion

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter or disable alerts at any time via the links in each email or your notification settings. To export the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account entirely, contact us and we'll take care of it.
