Hydrangea quercifolia 'Snowflake' Oakleaf Hydrangea

Hydrangea quercifolia 'Snowflake' is a deciduous shrub prized for its distinctive double flowers, which form in large, upright white panicles throughout the growing season. The foliage is deeply lobed and oak-like, turning bronze-purple in autumn before dropping. This cultivar reaches 5-6 feet in height and 7-8 feet in width at maturity and performs well in partial sun to full sun. The cultivar originated as a chance seedling discovered in an Alabama garden by Eddie Aldridge; rooted cuttings were nearly lost but have since been preserved and now appear in major gardens including Central Park and Butchart Gardens.
