About
'Baby Dragon' is a dwarf cultivar of Acer truncatum distinguished by exceptionally small leaves and an unusual semi-weeping branching habit that creates a dense, irregularly shaped crown. Foliage emerges green with red highlights in spring and summer, shifting to bright yellow in autumn. The vigorous growth habit and fine leaf texture make it well-suited to bonsai cultivation, while its tolerance for intense sun and heat makes it a practical choice for challenging garden locations. Mature plants typically reach 6-8 feet tall over ten years.
