About
Acer wuyuanense, commonly known as the Chocolate Maple, is a species native to Wuyuan County in Jiangxi Province, China. Its deeply lobed, palmate leaves emerge in rich chocolate tones during early spring before transitioning to deep green during the growing season and finishing with yellow, orange, or red autumn color. This medium-sized tree typically reaches 12-15 feet in height within ten years. The species is sometimes referred to as Acer pubinerve in botanical literature.
