Acer shirasawanum 'Red Wing' Japanese Maple

'Red Wing' is a slow-growing full moon Japanese maple with rounded, palmate green leaves that develop a distinctly layered canopy. The cultivar is notable for producing bright red seeds by late summer through fall, which contrast sharply with the foliage, the inspiration for its common name. Fall foliage transitions from orange to red tones. It typically reaches 6-8 feet in height over ten years and performs best with afternoon shade.
