Acer shirasawanum Red Dawn Seedling Japanese Maples

These seedlings derive from Acer shirasawanum 'Red Dawn', a red-leafed selection of full moon maple, and will not reproduce the parent cultivar exactly due to natural variation. Most seedlings display bright red to purple-red spring foliage, though fall color and mature characteristics may vary among individuals. Plants typically reach 8-10 feet in 15 years and benefit from afternoon shade in warmer climates.
