About
'Purple Umbrella' is a large-leafed selection of Acer shirasawanum with notably broad, umbrella-like foliage that emerges dark purple-maroon before developing an emerald cast as the season progresses. The leaves transition to bright red or deep maroon in autumn. This cultivar develops into an upright specimen reaching 8-10 feet tall over ten years, making it suitable for gardens seeking substantial architectural presence with sustained color interest.
