Acer robustum Rare Chinese Maple

Acer robustum (syn. Acer ceriferum, Acer anhweiense) is a rare Chinese maple with nearly orbicular leaves that display soft pubescence in early spring, resembling a full-moon form. The tree reaches approximately 15 feet in height at maturity and exhibits good frost hardiness across zones 5-9. Fall foliage transitions from bright yellow to orange. This mid-sized species has returned to cultivation at established collections in Chapel Hill and Philadelphia.
