About
Acer pseudosieboldianum ssp. takesimense is a wild-collected form from Ulleungdo Island, characterized by large, rounded, full green leaves that emerge with pink-tinged new growth in early spring. Fall color is exceptional, displaying yellows infused with oranges and metallic reds that persist longer and more reliably than typical Acer palmatum selections. This grafted tree reaches approximately 12-15 feet in 20 years and offers cold hardiness to zone 4, making it notably resilient for a maple in this group.
