Acer pseudosieboldianum ssp takesimense Ulleung-do Island Maple

Acer pseudosieboldianum ssp. takesimense is a distinctive maple native to Ulleung-do Island, characterized by large, rounded green leaves that are notably broader than those of shirasawanum cultivars like 'Autumn Moon'. In autumn, foliage transitions through yellows and oranges to metallic reds, a display that typically persists longer and more reliably than in Acer palmatum. When grafted onto A. palmatum rootstock, this species reaches approximately 12-15 feet tall within 20 years and is cold hardy to Zone 4.
