About
'Winter's Columnar Red' is a densely branched, narrowly columnar Japanese maple with a distinctive vertical habit, reaching approximately 10 feet tall by 2-3 feet wide at maturity. Foliage emerges bright red in early spring, darkening to maroon by late spring, then developing a yellow-green eye against the burgundy leaf surface by mid-to-late summer before shifting to brilliant red in autumn. Its tight, upright form and moderate mature size make it well-suited to confined garden spaces where height is desired without substantial width.
