About
'Wetumpka Red' is an upright Japanese maple cultivar selected by Harold Johnston, known for its dark purple-red foliage that maintains strong color throughout the growing season. The tree exhibits improved heat tolerance compared to many Japanese maple selections and reaches approximately 7 feet in height and 4 feet in width over ten years. It performs best with morning sun and afternoon shade exposure.
