Acer palmatum 'Washi-no-o' Green Lace Leaf Japanese Maple

'Washi-no-o' is a mounding shrub-form Japanese maple with deeply dissected green foliage that is coarser in texture than many other lace-leaf cultivars, featuring regularly cut lobe margins that create a distinctive appearance. This cultivar demonstrates superior sun tolerance compared to most green dissectums and can perform in full sun, though partial shade is ideal. Fall color transitions to bright yellow, sometimes with orange undertones in sunnier sites, typically appearing slightly later than other maples. At 10 years, plants reach 3-4 feet tall and 5-7 feet wide, requiring well-drained soil and preferably elevated planting conditions.
