Acer palmatum 'Sunset' Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum dissectum 'Sunset' is a deeply dissected laceleaf cultivar with foliage that progresses seasonally from bronze-green in spring through light yellow-green and pale green in summer. With adequate direct morning light, bronze-red tints often appear on emerging foliage in early spring. Fall color transforms to a distinctive sunset red with bleached yellow undertones. This cultivar typically reaches 3-4 feet tall and 5-6 feet wide within ten years, developing a spreading habit that benefits from afternoon shade in warmer regions.
