About
Acer palmatum ssp. palmatum (Mt. Fuji wild-collected) is a Japanese maple of open-grown forest origin, selected for its bright red autumn foliage. Trees from this collection typically develop into upright, vigorous specimens reaching 12-14 feet in height within ten years. According to the collectors at Mr Maple, this material was gathered from wild populations near Mt. Fuji during a 2015 expedition to Japan, preserving the fiery fall color characteristic of trees in that region.
