About
Acer palmatum dissectum 'Shojo shidare' is a weeping laceleaf cultivar with deeply dissected foliage that emerges and persists in red throughout the growing season, retaining its color better than many similar selections. The growth habit is distinctly cascading and hook-like, more pronounced in its pendulous character than related red laceleaf forms. Summer foliage remains a rich red, transitioning to bright or deep red in autumn. This cultivar, introduced in Japan in 1975, grows as a small weeping tree suitable for specimen planting and garden focal points.
