About
'Shidava Gold' is a compact cultivar derived from a broom mutation of 'Aoyagi', distinguished by bright green bark that persists through winter and provides ornamental interest in the dormant season. The palmate leaves emerge bright green in spring, deepen to rich green in summer, and transition to yellow tones in autumn. This cultivar develops a dense, smaller habit compared to its parent, reaching approximately 7-8 feet tall over 15 years, making it suitable for smaller garden spaces and effective for contrasting displays with coral-barked companions.
