About
Acer palmatum 'Shadow Selection' is a cold-hardy Japanese maple with leaves slightly larger than typical of the species. New spring foliage emerges pink before fading to dusty green in summer, then turning gold in autumn. The cultivar exhibits a compact growth habit relative to the species, eventually reaching approximately 20 feet tall at maturity. This selection has demonstrated exceptional cold tolerance and is noted for its vigor and disease resistance.
