About
Acer palmatum dissectum 'Sekimori' is a weeping Japanese maple with deeply dissected, bright green foliage that transforms to a pure golden yellow in autumn, among the most vibrant fall colors of the lace-leaf cultivars. It displays a distinctly arching, low-spreading habit that gracefully exposes the trunk, reaching approximately 6-7 feet wide by 3-4 feet tall in ten years at maturity. According to the growers at Mr Maple, this cultivar was favored by Japanese maple expert Jenny Vertrees and has proven equally popular in their nursery; its compact, spreading form makes it well-suited to container cultivation, and positioning the plant on elevated ground showcases its exceptional arching habit.
