About
'Schmidt's Woods' is a strapleaf Japanese maple characterized by bright red spring foliage that matures to emerald green with red undertones, creating striking color contrast between new and established growth. The elongated strap-like leaves provide distinctive texture, and the tree develops vibrant red fall color. This cultivar grows in a dense, compact habit, reaching approximately 8-10 feet tall over 15 years, making it notably smaller and more refined than similar strapleaf selections.
