About
Acer palmatum 'Right Fred' is an upright Japanese maple with deep purple-red leaves marked by prominent dark veins that create a distinctive reticulated pattern. Spring foliage displays the characteristic maroon-purple coloration, which transitions in autumn to shades of orange and scarlet. The cultivar typically reaches 6-8 feet in height over 10 years and develops a broad, structured form suitable for specimen planting or landscape integration. It prefers sunny to partly shaded conditions with well-drained soil to maintain leaf color saturation throughout the growing season.
