About
*Acer palmatum* 'Ramona' emerges with bright coral-pink new growth in early spring, transitioning to green by mid-spring, then develops striking yellow-green to yellow foliage with recurring coral-pink growth flushes throughout summer and into late season. This upright cultivar matures to approximately 6-8 feet in height and width within ten years, with small, finely dissected leaves. According to the growers at Mr Maple, the cultivar's hallmark is its extended season of color interest, unusual among Japanese maples for maintaining conspicuous foliar displays well into late summer and autumn, finishing with warm orange-red fall tones. Partial shade in warm regions (zones 8-9) protects foliage; in cooler climates, morning sun or high dappled light best sustains the signature pink flushes over green leaves.
