About
Acer palmatum 'Pastel' is a newer cultivar with palmate leaves that emerge in spring with soft pink reticulated variegation, intensifying to darker veining as the season progresses for increased visual contrast. Fall foliage transitions from bright red to deep maroon. The tree grows at a moderate rate, reaching approximately 10 feet in height within ten years, and performs best with afternoon shade protection to maintain the pastel coloration of the foliage.
