Acer palmatum 'Oshu shidare' Japanese Maple

'Oshu shidare' is an upright, weeping Japanese maple with distinctive seasonal foliage changes. Spring growth emerges bright pink-red, maturing to mauve-red by early summer, then transitioning to olive-green by late summer with continued pink-red flushes of new growth; autumn color becomes bright crimson. The tree typically reaches 6-7 feet in height and spread over ten years, with a cascading habit that creates fine texture in the garden. This is a vigorous Acer matsumurae selection (not laceleaf) with palmate leaves rather than deeply dissected foliage.
