FOR PICKUP ONLY | Acer palmatum 'Okushimo' Japanese Maple | DOES NOT SHIP

Acer palmatum 'Okushimo' is an upright Japanese maple with small, distinctively cupped leaves that emerge light green in spring, sometimes nearly chartreuse, and transition through yellow to deep orange in fall. The tree develops a narrow, vase-shaped form, growing vigorously to 15-20 feet tall and 10-15 feet wide, eventually reaching up to 20 feet while maintaining its columnar silhouette. According to the growers at Mr Maple, this is an older Japanese cultivar whose name may derive from "salt and pepper," referencing the textured appearance created by its tightly curled leaf margins, a feature so distinctive that many first-time observers mistake it for underwatering. Highly ornamental and durable, 'Okushimo' thrives equally well in sun or partial shade across zones 5-9, making it an exceptional specimen or accent plant that draws attention and conversation in any garden setting.
