About
Acer palmatum 'O shi rini' is an upright Japanese maple with distinctly narrow, deeply lobed leaves that contribute to its columnar silhouette, reaching 10-12 feet tall and 7-8 feet wide. Spring foliage emerges brick red, transitions through bronze-red tones, then matures to emerald green by mid-summer before turning bright orange in autumn. This cultivar, imported to America by the National Arboretum from Japan in 1978, remains uncommon in cultivation.
