Acer palmatum 'Narou nishiki' Japanese maple

'Narou nishiki' is a rarely cultivated Japanese maple with distinctive seasonal foliage changes. Spring growth emerges bright green, deepening to rich green by midsummer, while a secondary flush produces creamy variegation on light green leaves, a conditional trait that may not appear every year. The tree develops a spreading, upright habit, reaching approximately 10 feet in height and width over 20 years, with fall foliage turning bright golden yellow to orange. Best coloration is achieved with morning sun and afternoon shade.
