About
'Nakakamado Weeping' is a weeping Japanese maple with a spreading, cascading habit characterized by twisting branches that develop a sculptural form over time. The foliage consists of green, palmate (hand-shaped) leaves rather than the finely dissected laceleaf type typical of many weeping cultivars. In autumn, the leaves transition to bright yellow and orange tones. This cultivar exhibits good vigor and typically reaches 5-6 feet in height with a spread of 6-7 feet within ten years; staking encourages the development of more dramatic branch architecture.
