FOR PICK UP ONLY | Acer palmatum 'Moonfire' Japanese Maple | DOES NOT SHIP

Acer palmatum 'Moonfire' is an upright Japanese maple with deep maroon foliage at emergence that transitions through bright red tones to fire-engine red in fall, retaining color reliably even in summer heat. The leaves display a glossy upper surface and distinctly red undersides that create a glowing effect in sunlight, and the tree develops a broad, slightly wider canopy than some other compact red upright selections. It reaches approximately 10-12 feet tall in 10-15 years, making it suitable for mid-sized garden spaces. According to the growers at Mr Maple, 'Moonfire' was selected by Dick Wolf of Red Maple Nurseries from over 200,000 red seedlings and is renowned for exceptional heat tolerance and durability across zones 5-9, holding its color through summer without the mid-season greening that affects some other red cultivars. The tree thrives in well-draining soil with minimal supplemental water once established and benefits from moderate sun exposure, even in hot climates.
