Acer palmatum 'Miss Maple' Japanese Maple

'Miss Maple' is a reticulated variegated Japanese maple featuring deeply lobed palmate leaves with creamy white to mint-green coloration and lime-green veins that create striking contrast throughout the growing season. Early spring growth often displays soft pink to salmon tones over the light green base, while summer foliage develops a bleached blonde appearance; fall color shifts to deep maroon and cherry red. The tree grows in an upright, multi-stemmed vase shape, reaching 8-10 feet over ten to fifteen years with vigorous growth of approximately one foot annually. A seedling of 'Purple Ghost' selected by Talon Buchholtz and introduced as part of the Flora Wonder Collection, 'Miss Maple' shows exceptional heat and sun tolerance for a reticulated form. Best variegation is maintained with afternoon shade, though the growers at Mr. Maple have successfully cultivated it in full sun in zone 6b; afternoon protection is particularly recommended in high-heat regions.
