Acer palmatum 'Mikomo nishiki' Japanese Maple

'Mikomo nishiki' is a rarely cultivated dwarf to mid-size Japanese maple with distinctive seasonal foliage progression. Spring leaves emerge bronze-orange, darker than typical selections like 'Katsura', transitioning to green with bronze undertones in early summer before deepening to dark green by midsummer; fall color shifts to bright orange-red. The cultivar develops a dense, compact habit, reaching approximately 6-8 feet tall within ten years.
