About
'Looking Glass Falls' is a weeping Japanese maple with bright green spring foliage marked by purple-red leaf borders, transitioning to bright red in autumn. The extremely pendulous habit creates a cascading form reminiscent of 'Murasaki kiyohime' combined with the growth pattern of 'Ryusen'. When staked, it typically reaches 5-6 feet tall by 4-5 feet wide in ten years; ungainly forms may serve as groundcover or container specimens. This cultivar arose as a chance seedling from 'Nakakamado Weeping' parentage.
