About
Acer palmatum 'Lightning' is an upright Japanese maple with deeply divided, palmate leaves that display striking seasonal color transitions. Spring foliage emerges red to purple, fading to greenish tones in summer before turning bright yellow in autumn. The cultivar has a dense, shrubby habit and reaches 6-8 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide at maturity, making it suitable for small to medium landscapes where its textured canopy provides year-round interest.
