Acer palmatum 'Lemon Lime Lace' Japanese Maple

'Lemon Lime Lace' is a weeping laceleaf Japanese maple with deeply dissected foliage that emerges coral-tinted in spring, then develops the signature yellow-green coloring that gives the cultivar its name. New growth flushes throughout the growing season in bright lemon-yellow, creating a dynamic two-toned effect against mature chartreuse foliage; the fall display progresses from yellow to bold orange-yellow. The tree reaches approximately 4 feet tall and 6 feet wide in ten years, forming a low, spreading dome-shaped canopy with a more heavily divided leaf than some comparable laceleafs. According to the growers at Mr Maple, this cultivar was found and named by Del L., a prominent Japanese maple introducer, and is notably durable across zones 5-9, thriving in full sun through zone 8 (afternoon shade recommended in zone 9); it performs well in containers when staked to cascade, and requires excellent drainage to prevent waterlogging.
