Acer palmatum 'Kristin's Star' Japanese Maple

'Kristin's Star' is a dwarf Japanese maple with notably variable spring foliage color, emerging in shades ranging from coral-pink to bright orange-yellow depending on seasonal conditions. Mature foliage transitions to chartreuse with coral tinting on new growth. The tree develops a compact habit, reaching approximately 5 feet in height and width over 15-20 years, and displays bright orange to red fall color. This cultivar was selected as a chance seedling and is valued for its distinctive spring display and manageable size.
