Acer palmatum 'Koba shojo' Small Red Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Koba shojo' is a small upright Japanese maple with deeply lobed leaves that emerge bright red to deep maroon in spring, gradually developing an emerald-green overlay by late spring before turning bright red again in fall. The foliage is notably smaller and more refined than typical red Japanese maples. Growth is slow and columnar, reaching approximately 7-8 feet in 10 years, making it well-suited for small to medium-sized gardens where an upright form is desired.
