Acer palmatum 'Kinky Krinkle' is a distinctive Japanese maple characterized by deeply crinkled and ruffled foliage that resembles the lion's head type but with less pronounced curling. Emerging bright green in spring, the leaves deepen to a darker green through summer before turning bright orange-red in autumn. The cultivar displays a notably upright, columnar habit with flexible branching and relatively vigorous growth, reaching approximately 10-12 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide at maturity.
