About
This Japanese maple is a seedling selection originating from the celebrated gardens of Jojakko-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan, chosen by the temple's head monk for its exceptionally fine, diminutive foliage and vivid fall color. The tree displays small, delicate leaves on a deciduous framework that matures to approximately 15-20 feet in height over 20 years. Summer foliage is green; in autumn, the canopy transforms to fire-engine red. As a seedling-origin plant rather than a grafted clone, individual specimens may exhibit variation from the parent tree, though they are expected to share its characteristic refined leaf texture and brilliant seasonal display.
