About
'Johnnies Pink' is a compact, multi-stemmed Japanese maple with soft pink spring foliage that transitions to green before developing orange and red tones in autumn, a prolonged seasonal color display uncommon among maples. The tree produces small palmate leaves on fine, dense branching, typically reaching 8 feet at maturity, and often flushes with attractive new growth in mid-summer. According to the growers at Mr Maple, this cultivar was selected by Harold Johnston of Johnny's Pleasure Plants in Alabama specifically for heat tolerance and garden performance in the Southeast, making it notably adaptable to warm climates. The combination of spring interest, summer color breaks, and vibrant fall color makes it a versatile specimen for landscape use, and its naturally multi-stemmed habit suits bonsai training.
