Acer palmatum 'Hogyoku Seedling' Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Hogyoku Seedling' is an open-pollinated seedling strain derived from the classic cultivar 'Hogyoku', exhibiting variable characteristics typical of seedling populations. Young plants display palmate green leaves, many showing the distinctive curled or undulating foliage margins characteristic of the parent cultivar. These seedlings are expected to develop into larger trees with typical growth rates of approximately one foot annually, though fall coloration will vary from the parent 'Hogyoku' due to genetic diversity inherent in seed-grown material. Each plant represents a unique individual with similar but not identical ornamental qualities to the original cultivar.
