About
'Higasa yama' is a variegated cultivar named after Mount Higasayama in Japan with small palmate leaves that emerge pink in spring, the color gradually fading along the leaf veins to cream while the margins remain green. This upright tree reaches approximately 12 feet in landscape settings or 6 feet in containers, displaying red and yellow autumn color. The fine variegation is best appreciated in container cultivation, where the delicate leaf patterning remains easily visible.
