Acer palmatum 'Filigree Rouge' Weeping Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum dissectum 'Filigree Rouge' is a weeping laceleaf Japanese maple with exceptionally fine, deeply dissected foliage that emerges dark purple-red in spring, develops olive-green summer growth with coral-pink new flushes, and transitions to orange-red in fall. The cultivar grows slowly to approximately 3-4 feet tall and spreads wider, with a graceful, low-growing pendulous habit. According to the growers at Mr Maple, the cultivar's defining feature is its ornate leaf texture, with small red dots where the stems meet the leaflets, making it a distinctive choice among green laceleaf varieties. Best foliage color and fine leaf detail are achieved with morning sun and afternoon shade; plant it near walkways or seating areas where the intricate leaf structure can be closely appreciated. Container cultivation is possible with pots that have adequate drainage.
