About
Acer palmatum 'Festival' is an upright Japanese maple with spring chartreuse foliage that matures to kelly green before transitioning to a striking display of simultaneous reds, yellows, and oranges in autumn. Selected by Talon Buchholz as a seedling from Amber Glow, this cultivar typically reaches 8-10 feet tall and wide within 10 years, developing a rounded canopy. According to the growers at Mr Maple, Festival produces exceptional and consistent fall color, with multiple hues playing off one another on a single tree, and pairs particularly well with cultivars like Osakazuki for complementary seasonal contrast. This tree performs reliably across USDA zones 5-9 and grows approximately one foot per year.
