'Emerald Sunset' produces large palmate leaves that emerge with bright purple-red margins contrasting against chartreuse-green centers, a bicolor pattern that persists unusually long into the growing season. This cultivar typically develops a rounded habit, reaching approximately 6-8 feet tall over 15 years. It originated as a selection from Nishiki Nursery in Australia.
