About
Acer palmatum 'Ed Carmine' is an upright Japanese maple with deeply-divided leaves that emerge carmine-red in spring, gradually fading to soft pink at the margins before deepening to glossy green by summer. The foliage transforms to brilliant scarlet in autumn. This cultivar develops a rounded canopy, reaching approximately 8 feet tall and 7 feet wide at ten years, with potential for larger mature dimensions around 12 feet by 10 feet. It produces abundant winged samaras and is suitable for specimen plantings or container cultivation.
