About
'Dr. Brown' is a dwarf, weeping Japanese maple with finely dissected laceleaf foliage that emerges in deep burgundy-red with emerald-green highlights, transitioning through olive-green and pink tones before turning yellow, orange, and red in autumn. The tree develops a graceful cascading, umbrella-like habit, reaching approximately 4 feet tall and 5 feet wide at maturity, and is notably one of the slowest-growing ornatum-type cultivars, making it well-suited to small spaces and container cultivation. According to the growers at Mr Maple, 'Dr. Brown' combines the fine texture and rich seasonal color progression typical of its type with exceptional landscape versatility, earning recognition as a popular choice despite its counterintuitive name.
