About
'Chitoseyama shidare' is a weeping laceleaf Japanese maple with deeply dissected foliage that emerges bright cherry red in spring, gradually maturing to a lighter red rather than the deeper maroon typical of other red laceleaf cultivars. Summer growth flushes continue to display this striking cherry red coloration, while fall foliage transitions to bright crimson. The tree develops a spreading, weeping habit, reaching approximately 4 feet tall by 6 feet wide at maturity.
