About
Acer palmatum 'Bonsai Babies' is a seed-selected dwarf strain notable for tight internodes and small leaves approaching the species type, making it well-suited to bonsai and container cultivation. Spring foliage emerges with purple-red borders that fade to solid green; summer growth flushes coral-pink, and fall color ranges from orange to red. Growth remains compact, with most seedlings expected to remain under 6 feet tall in ten years. Because these are seed-grown rather than grafted selections, some variation in leaf size and habit may occur between individual plants.
