About
Acer palmatum 'Beni ubi gohan' is a compact cultivar with distinctive narrow leaves that widen toward the middle, resembling elongated fingers, a characteristic reflected in its name meaning "five long red fingers." The foliage emerges wine-red and maintains this coloration through summer before transitioning to green, then developing crimson fall color. It typically reaches 6-8 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide and tolerates full sun well except in extremely hot climates.
