Acer palmatum 'Attraction' Superbum Japanese Maple Tree

Acer palmatum 'Attraction' (also known as 'Superbum') is an upright Japanese maple with deeply lobed palmate leaves that emerge bright red in spring, deepen to dark maroon in summer, and shift to scarlet in autumn. The tree develops an irregular but balanced form and reaches 12-15 feet in height within 15 years. This cultivar was imported from Japan to the Netherlands in the 1970s and subsequently introduced to North America, where it became known by either of its two common names.
